What this site collects, what it doesn't, and why.
Every calculation on this site runs entirely in your browser. Your string gauges, tunings,
scale lengths, and every other setting are never sent to a server. There isn't one. The only
place that data exists is your own browser's localStorage, used solely so your
setup is still there next time you visit. Clearing your browser data or using the
Reset button removes it completely.
This site uses Google Analytics to understand overall traffic, roughly how many people visit, which pages, and general technical details like browser and device type. This is aggregate usage data, not anything about your calculator inputs.
Analytics cookies are off by default. They're only set if you click Accept on the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of any page. Google's own handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
